As you can see from the wind strength today was a salutary reminder of how challenging it can be to sail on a lake with a 250 wave board. It took me a while to find my form as I was caught out by the wind shifting or disappearing completely and spent quite a time in the water. In hindsight I should have gone for the slalom kit with the 6.3 or 7.1 but I had set my heart on a little freestyle practice.

After I had dialled into the conditions I gave up on the planing tricks as the gusts were too far apart so it was down to rig spinning tack variations. Played around with heli tacks and sail 360's and even managed to get a few tail first launches into board spins but it was ultimately a frustrating day. To add insult it cost me £5.50 for the privilege of launching after 3pm, I can't wait to get back on the sea for some real sailing.
